Mind the Body Acupuncture and Counseling
fix what ails ye
One is a counselor and one is an acupuncturist. Cool, right?
I believe the body has an innate ability to repair and heal itself. I strive to empower my clients with self-care techniques that will control pain levels, reduce anxiety and depression, and strengthen the whole body. At Mind the Body, I use a combination of acupuncture, tui na, cupping and other modalities to help reclaim health and wellbeing.
Acupuncture can help with a myriad of problems: allergies, arthritis, fatigue, weight loss support, chronic pain, anxiety, depression, headaches, and so many more.
So how do you choose a therapist out of a sea of faces? I think the truth is pretty simple: you go with your gut. Lots of evidence shows that it is the counseling relationship-rather than theory or modality used-that is the causal factor of change. It's my firm belief that the overriding factors needed in that relationship are trust, patience, and kindness. You'll get those from me because that's what I give myself. That's what leads to change.
I use a wide variety of techniques in therapy including, but not limited to: Cognitive Behavioral Therapy, ACT/DBT, mindfulness techniques. My style is very interactive. That means I ask lots of questions, give homework and generally speak
to you like you're human. Open, honest dialogue changes lives.
Combining the Two
We shouldn't expect full recovery and holistic change when we ignore either the mind or the body in our treatment protocol. Therefore, we believe that combining acupuncture with talk therapy provides a more rounded, deeper approach to healing.
Booking with Joshua affords you the opportunity to receive discounted rates with Jillian, regardless of what acupuncture services you choose.
New to acupuncture? So many new clients ask me about what they can expect from a treatment, so I thought I would lay it all out there so that you can get a better understanding…
